For now, Infiniti's on board with its new QX56 -- its version of the Nissan Titan Armada -- which it unveiled at the Detroit show earlier this week. 2008 Infiniti QX56 Debuts at NAIAS
DETROIT (Jan. 7, 2007) - Following a record setting sales trend and the successful launch of the all-new G sedan, Infiniti is keeping the momentum going with today's unveiling of the 2008 Infiniti QX full-size luxury sport utility vehicle at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
With a new interior and refined exterior, Infiniti is enhancing and improving what customers already love about the QX - styling, technology, comfort - without compromising its towing capacity and interior roominess.
"Like the all-new G Sedan, the 2008 QX demonstrates Infiniti's philosophy of constantly evolving in the competitive luxury segment," said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager of Infiniti. "Despite being voted by consumers as top in its class in the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, we've given the new QX significant upgrades in the areas of interior design, performance, luxury features, and technology."
The new QX, which goes on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide in April 2007, is the first major revision since it joined the luxury SUV scene in 2004 with a number of class-leading standard features. The exterior enhancements to the new QX include new front and rear fascias, new front fog lamps, new roof rack, standard 20-inch chromed aluminum-alloy wheels, and two new exterior colors - Lakeshore Slate and Serengeti Sand.
The QX's new interior is highlighted by a new instrument panel cluster design with Fine Vision electroluminescent instrumentation and a new genuine wood grain interior trim. Comfort and convenience is enhanced with a new 3rd-row power folding seat, standard heated steering wheel on the 4WD model, and a new stone interior.
Technological advancements include a new standard Premium Audio System with Bose® Speakers, Burr-Brown Digital Audio Converter and 9.5-gigabyte Music Box hard drive and compact flash slot for playing MP3 files, Infiniti Navigation system and Intelligent Key.
Also available is an Infiniti Mobile Entertainment System with a larger screen (8.0 inches versus the previous 7.0), and a standard XM® NavTraffic(TM) system with real-time traffic information (requires active XM® satellite radio subscription) - which allows drivers to chose the most efficient route to get to their destination.
The QX maintains its class-leading 2nd row roominess, go-anywhere ruggedness and the abundant power and up to 9,000-pound towing capability (when properly equipped) of the standard 320-horsepower DOHC 5.6-liter V8 engine.
Infiniti is keeping to its promise of delivering three new cars in thirteen months by introducing the next-generation Infiniti G Coupe and a new crossover sport utility concept at the 2007 New York International Auto Show in April.

Earlier today, Infiniti released a sketch of its next G35, which will incorporate cues from the company's Coupe concept -- a prototype introduced at last year's Detroit show. The redesign will put the aging two-door in line with the latest G35 sedan, which received a makeover for the 2007 model year. The new coupe, which incorporates the sedan's new "katana blade" cut-in design -- will join its extra-doored sibling on dealers' lots in 2008. – Mike Spinelli

Besides its speedy wireless -N connectivity, Buffalo says this AirStation Wireless-N Infinity Dual Band Router is the first to receive the stamp of approval for Windows Vista. You can tell by those serious- looking antennas that this baby is a juggler, handling four wireless standards (802.11b/g/a/n) all at the same time, and even going dual-band for quicker throughput. That veritable alphabet soup (especially that letter "n") lets you grab your data at speeds of 300Mbps, and hey, that's fast enough for some serious HDTV throughput.
If you don't like using this WZR-AG300NH as a router, switch it over to bridge mode and then you can use it as an access point. In addition to its wireless feats of strength, it also has a quartet of gigabit Ethernet ports. First of all, good on Ghosn. But, we find it a little odd that Nissan North America waited until after they left Los Angeles for greener pastures in Nashville to announce domestic partnership benefits for all their employees, be they gay, lesbian, bi or transgender. Maybe the South really is changing? Or maybe they figure that peeps in Tennessee will fearfully stay in the closet, hence saving NiMoReNaultCo even more money? You know how bean counters think. We also find it odd that MINI is still gay-hostile, especially as parent BMW is so petrified by vaginas. Maybe they're just anti-lesbian? – Jonny Lieberman

Ik heb hier een paar Infinity Overture 3 speakers staan en aangesloten op mijn Yamaha AX-1050.
Bij de linkerspeaker deed het laag het niet, rechts was de tweeter kapot.
De tweeters omgedraaid en geluisterd hoe de Infinity mono alleen op rechts klonk.
In eerste instantie leek het mid oververtegenwoordigd en (dus) erg weinig hoog (nogmaals op één speaker mono)\
Daarna een heel nummer geluisterd en nog een keer de (mono) JBL aan op links: dat leek in een keer veel te veel hoog.

Japanese tuning shop DAMD is offering a new package of cosmetics mods for the Infiniti G35 -- a relatively new entry in its native Japan. The BlackXMetal package includes front bumper fascia and grill, a rear bumper lower valance, CIBE fog lamps, special emblems and 19" DAMD DD-7 rims and optional DSE exhaust. Of course, the most notable feature is that grillework and fascia, which splits the difference between the mental image -- if not the actual one -- of a Jaguar XKE and the Spyker Peking-to-Paris SUV. Whether that's a good thing is a matter of taste.

Hoi,
Ik wil mijn infinity subwoofer aansluiten op mijn Denon AVR 1906 receiver. Nou heeft mijn receiver één enkele subwooferuitgang maar de subwoofer zelf heeft twee ingangen (rood en wit). Wat is de goede manier van aansluiten ? Alvast bedankt.

Infiniti senior VP Shiro "Touch Your Customers" Nakamura says the next G35 coupe will closely resemble the coupe concept Infiniti unveiled in Detroit. If you'll recall the flowery verbiage, that means the "highly massaged" surface treatment of the concept hearkens a more "aggressive, seductive and precise" G35, when it emerges in mid-2007. Uh oh. Isn't that what the French said about Mata Hari?

The journo kids at the New York show were all agog over the double-black 2007 Infiniti G35 -- its piano lacquer finish, supple curves and lushly appointed interior turning the typical crowd of quintagenarian car hacks into schoolboys on their first trip to Hooters (those chicken wings are huge!). Subsequently, someone spotted a pre-production model during a hot-weather shakedown in Dubai and whipped out a digicam. The rest, as they say in the United Arab Emirates, is history.
