Our amici at Autoblog.it located a shot of what may be the next Lamborgini Gallardo lurking amid its home streets of Sant'Agata. If it is, it appears the Von Lambos are bringing in a shade more Murciélago influence. Otherwise, there may be a new limited-edition model in the works, which will be wider and the need for more pronounced intakes. Hmm.

PC Magazine reviews the Lamborghini-branded Asus VX1, filling the entire writeup with terrible automotive journalism cliches. They compare it to the iTronix ruggedized Hummer Laptop, and last year's Acer Ferrari Laptop. Predictably, with its 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo T2500 and Gig of RAM "Under The Hood", it's faster than both. Although, in their defense, the tough Hummer can probably get dropped on its grill without flinching, and the newer Ferrari notebook we wrote about will probably has enough "horsepower" to keep up with the Lambo "off the line". Regular Lamborghini-style scissor doors weren't enough for the customization wonks at Germany's Hamann tuning house. In working up their worked-over version of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spider, they created their own, proprietary version of the portals, which open outward like the wings of a black-tailed platyaciferous (right, totally fake bird). Other trappings include a chipped-out engine computer -- boosting horsepower to 550 and increasing top speed to 199 mph -- aero kit, eight-piston brakes, 19" and 20" wheels and a silk shirt open to the navel. Sorry, that last one's an option.

No, this isn't just some $5 mouse pad with a Lamborghini on it. This is an actual Italian leather Lamborghini mousepad, made by the same people who bring you those fancy horseless wagons with all the horses under the hood.
The pad is in the shape of the Lamborghini crest, but doesn't have the actual crest design. We're not sure how much it costs, but it's sure to be less than the $500 F1 Mouse Pad. – Jason Chen

According to our buddy Chris Paukert, formerly of Autoblog, who's now posting for Winding Road, AutoExpress reports Lambo's scuttled plans to build successors to its Espada GT and super-bad LM002 SUV (pictured) of the last millennium. Word had been swirling for years that a project to build a new 2+2 -- an homage to the company's odd Espada of the 1970s -- was on, then off, then on again. Likewise for a new, high performance SUV -- less radical than the shikh-bait LM002 -- based on the VW Touareg / Porsche Cayanne / Audi Q7. Both projects are reportedly off, but there's not word on whether the company will do the right thing and build the Miura concept for production.

We're ambivalent about the aftermarket tuning of supercars. On one hand, we're no fans of superfluity -- especially the automotive kind. On the other, we empathize with those for whom a weighty bank account can cause severe musculoskeletal distress. If it's a comfort to, say, unload some of that crushing cash on outfitting a Lamborghini Murcielago on a Hamann kit, which includes front and rear spoilers in kevlar or fiberglass, a carbon-fiber interior kit, stainless steel sports muffler and 20" alloys, we say "full steam ahead!" No one can say we don't do our part for the less fortunate.
