Als er één auto uit de lange geschiedenis van de Auto van het Jaar verkiezing is geweest die recht had op de uit verkiezing, dan was het de inmiddels legendarische en revolutionaire NSU Ro80. AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Koninklijke Reesink nv heeft overeenstemming bereikt over de overname van de activiteiten van de onlangs failliet verklaarde Nederlandse Staal Unie (NSU), Stalutech en Vincento Investments, meldt het concern woensdag zonder financiele details bekend te maken.
Daarnaast meldt Reesink ook een groot deel van het personeel over te nemen.

With the Olds blasting the Chrysler by a decisive margin in yesterday's Choose Your Eternity poll, we figured it was time to go across the water and get a couple of seriously cool- yet sanity-shreddingly difficult- sporty cars for you to choose from today. And, just because no choices are easy in Hell, we're going to make you choose between German rotary and Detroit V8 power.We're going to give the Project Car Understatement of the Year Award to the seller of this '76 Jensen Interceptor III, for the statement "There are some problems with the wiring." Stop the presses- a Jensen with wiring problems? But that's no big deal, not when you're talking about an Interceptor for just $3000. The seller claims the car "runs and can be drivin" (sic), but there's no mention of whether it has the original Mopar 440 or... something else. Also no big deal, since the junkyards are full of 440s, though it would be nice to know if it has a manual trans. When you're buying the last of the Interceptors for three Gs, you just have to take what you get.
The Interceptor, hellish as it may be, is something of a known quantity; buying it would be like deciding to walk from Florida to Alaska while dragging a washing machine chained to your ankle- it would be long and arduous, but you'd know how far you had to travel. However, when you buy this barn find '66 NSU Spider, you're signing up for a journey that may never end, and instead of dragging a washing machine you'll be pushing a dumpster full of boiling monkey piss. But, see, if you get it working you'll be the only non-Mazda rotary driver in your time zone! This NSU has been sitting in an Ohio barn- literally- since 1976, so every component that ever touched fluid is going to be bad, the engine is almost certainly locked solid, and there will be unexpected corrosion surprises galore. Parts obtainment... well, let's just say you'll want a machine shop handy. On the plus side, you get a bunch of NOS spare parts and the seats and carpets were stored separately and are in nice shape.

The Glas Goggomobil is yet another post-war German microcar from a sewing machine manufacturer with a puny engine in the butt. Besides its righteous name, the Goggonmobil had the distinction of being built in the town of Dingofling. Besides its funny name, Dingofling is the current location of BMW's biggest factory which employs 22,000 insanely precise individuals. And yes, BMW purchased Glas in 1960s. The Goggomobil also sported an electric pre-selective transmission with a manual clutch. Essentially, you pre-select the gear you want next, and when you need it, hit the clutch. Anyhow, someone made a mini-panel van out of the Goggomobil and then naturally Camino'd it. And we're in three-types of love. We're also starting to suspect that the European instinct to Camino is stronger then the American... just saying. More Glas-y Goggonmogoodness after the jump.

For comparison's sake, a Toyota Prius sports a drag coefficient of 0.26. Not pictured for copyright reasons is the most stunning of all the Adler Streamliners, the Trumpf Rennwagon. But if you click the link, photographer Michael Zumbrunn has photographed one of the most dramatic vehicles from the design high watermark 1930s. Note the twin windows on the door. While the sheer terror of Group B Rally machines is documented with well deserved awe we like to root for the underdogs and unsung oddballs of the automobile world - some more oddball and unsung than others. Look not so closely to see numerous Ford Sierra Cosworths laughing like hyenas as they push tarmac sliding power through blow off valves and wastegates. Ford Sierras were hardly sold here in the states as a Merkur Xr4ti with a turbocharged SOHC 2.3L Ford mill under the hood. Look more closely to see a few NSU Prinz 1000's assing their way around corners, openly mocking their inner Bruce. Peer most carefully to witness a Starion wide body run a little wide, and not of its body. – Mike Bumbeck

Before the hate mail starts flowing, Neckarsulmer Strickmaschinenfabrik produced the infamous Kettenkrad tank-bike thingy. Moving on. In 1955 NSU was the world's largest motorcycle producer. But, like Dutch truck maker DAF, they knew the real action was in 600cc microcars, and released an ugly, miserable ride with a non-synchronous "crash" gearbox in 1957. Not many cared. But, in 1961, NSU released the Corvair-inspired Prinz 4 and oh baby, did Volk start to take notice. The new car featured a highly precise air-cooled, two-cylinder mill loaded with motorcycle technology and mounted behind the rear axle. Make the jump to see a Prinz 4 attacking the 'Ring and learn a little more.
Central Europeans still race the hell out of the Prinz, albeit in its four-cylinder configuration called the 1000 for its larger displacement. The engine was unusual for its inline configuration -- quite different from other rear-engined German cars (think boxer). By doing this, NSU saved a few deutsch marks by only having to fashion a single head, carb, intake and exhaust manifold, which also saved weight. The engines were in fact imbued with a fair amount of Bruce and featured five main bearings for the crankshaft. Best of all by far were the Mopar-a-rific hemispherical combustion chambers!

NSU started out as a sewing machine company in 1873, quickly moved into bicycles, and then into motorcycles and cars. Absorbed by VW in 1970 after investing too much money in rotary engines with too little return, the Audi factory in Neckarsulm still sits at the corner of NSU-Strasse and Felix Wankel Strasse, a tribute in macadam to a brand that no longer exists, and a method of internal combustion that only lives on at Mazda. – Davey G. Een breed soa onderzoek laten doen bij een soa poli van een (grote) GG en GD instelling... men kan bijvoorbeeld aan urine zien of er een ontsteking present is in het uro-genitale traject (grofweg gezegd, de pisbuis.)
Er kan bijvoorbeeld sprake zijn van een NSU (Non Specific Urethral-infection) waarvoor men je een breed spectrum antibioticum kan geven.
Je klachten kunnen ook duiden op een 'gewone' en tijdelijke irritatie.

Voor chlamydia, gonorroe, nsu kweekje uit slijmvlies en urineonderzoek.
Voor HPV, herpes, candida: Visuele (inwendige) inspectie.
Bij een soa-poli (van een GG en GD instelling in de grote steden) kun je de 'hele molen' in 1 visite doorlopen.
Half uur na afloop de voorlopige uitslagen, een week later de definitieve uitslagen.
Voor hiv bestaat een sneltest: Half uur later al de definitieve uitslag.

AMSTERDAM - Webwinkel Amazon zegt dat een technische fout er de oorzaak van was dat boeken en dvd's met een homoseksueel thema enkele dagen onvindbaar waren. De vermeende censuur leidde dit weekend tot een storm van protest. Het ging daarbij niet alleen om homoerotisch materiaal, maar ook om romans als Brokeback Mountain of veel werk van de beroemde schrijver Gore Vidal. De boeken stonden niet langer in bestsellerlijstjes en werden niet getoond in de normale zoekresultaten.Critici vermoedden kwade opzet en beschuldigden Amazon van censuur. Op weblogs en op Twitter regende het protesten.
Technische fout
Amazon zegt in een reactie tegenover technologiesite Techflash dat het om een technische fout ging. Het bedrijf spreekt tegen dat alleen boeken met een homoseksueel thema onzichtbaar waren geworden. In totaal zouden meer dan 57 duizend titels zijn 'verdwenen' in rubrieken als homoseksualiteit, gezondheid, erotica en voortplanting.
Hacker
De boekensite ontkent dat het systeem is ontregeld door de hacker 'weev', die beweert dat hij geautomatiseerd duizenden klachten had ingediend over boeken over homoseksualiteit.Het bedrijf zegt de fout te zullen herstellen en maatregelen te treffen om herhaling te voorkomen. Volgens Amazon zijn de meeste verdwenen titels inmiddels weer vindbaar.

Bezoek Sudanese president aan Zuid-Sudan voorlopig enige consensus overleg
De Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir brengt deze maand een bezoek aan Zuid-Sudan. Dit heeft het Sudanese ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken vandaag bekendgemaakt. Hij gaat er onder meer spreken over de problemen betreffende de olie-inkomsten en de doorvoer van olie. Zuid-Sudan is na meer dan een halve eeuw strijd in juli onafhankelijk geworden van de rest van Sudan. Het jonge land sloot in januari zijn olievelden door ruzie met Khartoem over wat Zuid-Sudan moet afdragen voor transport door Sudan naar de haven Port-Sudan. De twee landen hebben bovendien een bloedig grensconflict, omdat een deel van de zwart-Afrikaanse zuiderlingen met hun stamgebieden tegen hun zin niet bij Zuid-Sudan werden ingedeeld.Stroeve onderhandelingenBij onderhandelingen tussen beide partijen in de Ethiopische hoofdstad Addis Abeba is nog steeds geen vooruitgang te bespeuren. De onderhandelaars zeiden dinsdag dat vooralsnog alleen is besloten dat Bashir zijn Zuid-Sudanese ambtgenoot Salva Kiir spoedig in Juba spreekt.Bashir kwam als generaal in 1989 met een staatsgreep aan de macht. Brussel maakt software tegen internetcensuur
STRAATSBURG - De Europese Commissie begint een project om software te ontwikkelen waarmee internetters in landen zoals China de censuur kunnen ontwijken. EU-commissaris Viviane Reding (Informatietechniek) heeft positief gereageerd op een suggestie daartoe van VVD-Europarlementslid Jules Maaten.De VVD'er had ook gepleit voor harde strafmaatregelen voor Europese bedrijven die meewerken aan de censuur.
Celstraffen
Sancties zoals celstraffen gaan de EU-commissaris echter te ver: ''Ik geloof dat het niet zo hard hoeft'', zei ze in een vergadering met Europarlementsleden en internetbedrijven in Straatsburg.De commissaris wil ook een gedragscode tegen censuur helpen lanceren voor internetbedrijven.Onder meer China blokkeert nu bepaalde sites voor internetters in eigen land. De EU-commissaris zei binnenkort met China te willen spreken over signalen dat het land de internetcensuur heeft verscherpt sinds de Olympische Spelen in augustus in Peking.
